Contribution to the development of fired bricks made of industrial sludge [Contribution à l'élaboration des briques en terre cuite à base d'une boue industrielle]

Currently in morocco industries generate huge amounts of sludge from treatment of industrial wastewater. untreated waste in most cases is deposited in landfills,causing a real environmental concern. this work presents an effective solution for sludge management. therefore this work has two objectives,the first has an environmental interest and the second has economic order. the physico-chemical characterization of sludge from a sanitary ceramic industry has shown the absence of metallic contamination. the sludge was subsequently used as a substitute raw material in the preparation of bricks,for obtaining a new building material whose quality is similar to the materials made with 100% clay.
