Determination of the contamination degree of landfill uncontroled from Tangier by some heavy metals [Détermination du degré de contamination du site de la décharge,non contrôlée,de la ville de Tanger par quelques métaux lourds]

The population,economic and urban growths are often the big cause of a large waste production in major moroccan cities. this waste has harmful impacts on human health and the environment. solid wastes land filled are rarely inert,numerous physico-chemical and biological reactions occur between the waste and the receiving environment (soil). this study deals with the evaluation of the degree of public landfill site pollution in tangier. samples are taken from the surface at eight points of discharge. the physico-chemical parameters (moisture,ph,organic matter...) were determined on these samples as well as the contents of five heavy metals (pb,cd,as,cr and zn). the findings analysis of landfill soil showed that the presence of heavy metals are present in significant quantities,thus for the levels of organic matter (vary between 0.172 and 24 %).
