   Valorisation of natural mineral substances (NMS) at adsorption techniques: Case of olive oil mill waste waters

چکیده    The principal objective of this work is to propose a simple,low cost solution for the olive mill wastewater (omww) detoxification,based on the adsorption of phenolic compounds on clay particles,this will allow to reduce their concentration in the solution. clay minerals are hydrated aluminum silicates with very fine particle size,usually <2µm,they have the capacity to fix pollutants such as organic compounds,this ecological application is due to their interesting physicochemical properties. this study aims in a first time,to identify the mineralogical composition of clay mineral using different techniques of characterization,and to identify the physical and chemical composition of olive mill waste water. also we studied the modification of naturel clay by thermal treatement. the langmuir and freundlich models were used to describe equilibrium isotherms. according to the results,the studied sample contains one type of clay,montmorillonite. the effluent is not biodegradable. the activation of the clay upgrades the efficiency of adsorption while the increase is five times more than natural clay. the adsorption occurs according to the langmuir model,and freundlich.
