Physico-chemical study of marine waters sands in the region of Sidi Ifni: Particle size and determination of the concentration of heavy metals [Etude physico-chimique des sables des eaux marines de la région de Sidi Ifni: Granulométrie et détermination de la concentration des métaux lourds]

Heavy metals are considered as toxic elements for the fauna,the flora,the human and animal health. in our work,the sands and marine waters are collected in eight zones,located between the beach of aglou and the port of sidi ifni. they are characterized by physico-chemical methods and spectroscopic (rx,pki,...). we have followed the concentrations of traces of heavy metals (cd,cu,pb,and zn) by atomic absorption spectrometry. the physicochemical analysis showed that the seven types of sands are very rich in quartz sio2 and calcite caco3.usually the concentrations of heavy metals in the sands and the marine waters collected depend on the nature of the metal,and the sampling site. the results found indicate that the levels of heavy metals do not exceed the moroccan standards.
