Physico-chemical characterization of a morrocan clay [Caractérisation physico-chimique d'une argile Marocaine]

This work concerned the physicochemical characterization and the identification of a natural moroccan clay from the area of oriental middle atlas of morocco,missour,boulemane province. the analyses by x-rays diffraction,x-ray fluorescence per infra-red like by microscopic observations using scanning and transmitting microscope,the results obtained sio2/al2o3=3,2 is an index characterizing the free quartz. the puts analysis showed the presence of clay layers dispersed in form of sticks and some clusters of aggregates which can be due to the presence of carbonates within clay. the semi-quantitative analysis by edax,shows the presence of chemical elements if,al,mg,fe,k,p,s,plus a great amount of silicon due to the large presence of quartz.
