Identification of constructive typologies corpus land for the preservation of built heritage and construction in Algeria [Identification du corpus des typologies constructives en terre pour la préservation du patrimoine bâti en et la construction en Algérie]

Algeria is a country that harbors a large earthen building heritage. with adobe and rammed earth,dating from the medieval period to the present,the earthen architecture extends into all areas from the north to the south of the country using various techniques where the earthen material was used according to technical knowledge and natural constraints. the earth modeling produced a real architectural language that express know-how and creative impulses from one region to another. preservation and innovation of earthen architecture are two aspects to the concerns of algeria. several research centers such as the cnerib or capterre aim to enhance the earthen architecture. also many restoration projects have committed on the territory to preserve this architecture (tlemcen,biskra,témacine,timimoune and others). in universities,the researches in earthen architecture are very advanced,both in architectural education and in research projects. as such this article will present the work developed by the teachers of the institute of architecture and urban planning of blida 1 concerning the realization of the corpus of the earthen constructive typologies in algeria. there are nearly twenty techniques using either adobe or rammed earth,with several variants combining other materials to meet the site requirements,climate,natural hazards. the purpose of this corpus is the production of knowledge on the processes adopted in algeria and will be available both for educators and for those who are working in the building sector for construction and preservation.
