The effect of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole (2-mbi) on the corrosion of cu-30ni alloy in nacl 3% solution polluted by sulphide ions was studied by weight loss measurements,potentiodynamic polarization and impedance spectroscopy (eis) methods. it is concludes that the presence of sulphide ions in nacl 3% accelerates the corrosion of cu-30ni alloy. to protect the cu-30ni alloy structure from the corrosion in presence of sulphide as pollutants,the anticorrosion effect of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole was examined. the obtained results show that 2-mbi acts as a good mixed-type inhibitor retarding the anodic and cathodic reactions. the inhibitory efficiency determined by the electrochemical measurements increases with immersion time. © 2017,university of mohammed premier oujda morocco.
