چکیده    In this study, the possible involvement of l-type voltage-operated calcium channels inthe vasorelaxant effect of the flavonoid quercetin was investigated, using the isolated aorticrings from normal male rats. addition of quercetin (0.1 flm-1 mm) caused a significantdose-dependent relaxation of noradrenaline (na)- and kci-preconstricted rings andnifedipine attenuated this response, especially for noradrenaline (p(less than00.05). it is concludedthat the flavonoid quercetin produces a potent relaxation of the rat aorta and blockade ofvoltage-operated calcium channels could attenuate this effect.
