Ethanolic crude extract of 1. imbricata lind!. (iridaceae) was subjected to columnchromatography on silica gel with varying portions of meoh: chcly nigicin (irisolone)was isolated and its identification ca rried out by jr, uv, ms, i-d and 2-d nmrspectroscopy.
