چکیده
|
Fumonisin b i (fb i) is the most abundant of the fumonisin mycotoxins, mainly producedin com by fungi of the genus fusarium. fb i has been shown to be hepatocarcinogenic andnephrocarcinogenic in animals. contamination of com with fb i was assayed in samplescollected from mazandaran province, situated on the caspian littoral of iran, in september2000. in this survey, 38 com samples were analyzed using hplc, and all except one showedhigh levels offb i contamination ranged between 1.19 and 12.95 mg/kg. these results confirmthe relatively high levels of fb1 contamination in com of mazandaran province.
