مادر و شهرهای رشد یابنده : استعاره ای مدرن در سروده های امیل وِرهارن

هدف از نوشتار حاضر بازخوانی دشت‌های وهم‌آلود شهرهای رشد یابنده 1895 اثر امیل ورهارن در پرتو نقد روان‌شناختی است. در این سروده‌ها تصاویر حوزه ناخوداگاه به شهری جان می‌دهند که‌هیولاوار پیش می‌رود و پیکرش را فربه‌تر می‌کند. انگاره شهر به نحو معناداری با استعاره مادر پیوند دارد و وجوه متعدد و متضادی را برمی‌نمایاند: مظهر صلابت در مقام مادر شهر از یک سو، مظهر درنده‌خویی و مادر نرینه هولناک از دیگر سو، نیز تجلی‌بخش زندگی ابدی و بازتاب‌دهنده تصویر مرگ توامان. به نظر می‌رسد که تنها راه خودیابی انسان روان رنجه در شهر، نماد مادر بدنهاد و خیزاننده امیال سیری‌ناپذیر، این باشد که میل به بودن را از نو بیاموزد. پرسش جهانی سرانجام رهیده‌از سلطه شهرها؟ در موخره سروده‌ها مبین آرزوی ناخودآگاه رهایی از سلطه ایزد‌بانوی مادر است، آرزویی که در برابر قدرت خیره کننده او چندان سر برنمی‌آورد.

Mother and The Sprawling City: a modern metaphor in Emile Verhaeren’s poetry

AbstractAbstractThe present study aimed to provide a fresh reading of Emile Verhaeren’s Les Campagnes Hallucinées (1893) and Les Villes Tentaculaires (1895) in light of psychological criticism. The concept of city in his work in meaningfully linked to the metaphor of mother and manifests different and sometimes contradictory aspects: city as mother (an embodiment of strength), the manifestation of ferocity and terrible male mother as the herald of simultaneous life and death. It seems that retrieving the desire, the sole path to the reconnaissance of spiritually suffering human, constitutes a symbol , image and reflection of malevolent mother and a trigger for insatiable desires.But the question is whether the world question will eventually be freed from thee dominance of cities. In the recent poems, freedom from the dominance of Godmother is the expression of the unconscious desire, which does not stand much chance in the face of its stunning power.
