آیین های تدفین و سوگواری سغدیان بر اساس منابع مکتوب چینی

سغد از نظر جغرافیایی در فرارود و بین ایران و چین واقع شده بود. سغدیان به واسطه تجارت و بازرگانی در راه های موسوم به ابریشم به مرور زمان سکونتگاه‌هایی پدید آوردند و از حدود اواخر قرن سوم ق.م. در چین نیز نفوذ کردند. این ارتباط و سکونت گروه‌هایی از آنها در نواحی شمالی و غربی چین باعث توجه تاریخ‌نگاری‌های چینی نسبت به این مردم شده به‌گونه‌ای که در گزارش های خود مطالبی را در مورد جنبه های مختلف حیات آنها از جمله فرهنگ و دین ذکر کرده اند. آیین های تدفین و سوگواری سغدیان که خود تحت تاثیر باورهای دینی آنان قرار دارد از مسائلی است که در این منابع مورد توجه قرار گرفته و هدف این پژوهش راستی آزمایی گزارش های این منابع از یک سو و چیستی این آیین ها و چگونگی آن ها از سوی دیگر ست. تاریخ‌نگاری‌های چینی مورد استفاده در این پژوهش متنوع و متعلق به بازۀ زمانی قرون چهارم تا یازدهم میلادی هستند و گزارش های آن ها در این مورد اغلب کوتاه است. بررسی و تحلیل داده های این منابع نشان می دهد که مطالب آن ها عموماً معتبر و آیین های تدفین در بین سغدیان متنوع و با اندکی اغماض مطابق با سنت‌های زردشتی است. رسوم سوگواری سغدیان نیز شباهت بسیار زیادی به دیگر اقوام ایرانی و سنت‌های رایج در بین آنها دارد

the burial and mourning rituals of the sogdians on the basis of chinese historiographies

sogd was a region located between iran and china. over time, the sogdians established settlements as a result of trade and commerce along the so-called silk roads. they entered china at the end of the third century b.c. this connection, and the settlement of groups of them in the northern and western regions of china, has attracted the attention of chinese historians. in their accounts, they have mentioned various aspects of sogdian life, including culture and religion. the burial and mourning rites of the sogdians, which were influenced by their religious life, are among the topics discussed in these sources. the aim of this research is, on the one hand, to verify the reports of these sources and, on the other hand, to find out what these rituals are and how they are performed. the chinese historiographies used in this study are diverse and belong to the period from the 4th to the 11th century ad. their accounts are often brief. examination and analysis of the data from these sources shows that their contents are generally valid and that the funeral rituals of the sogdians are diverse and, with a few concessions, in line with zoroastrian traditions. sogdian funeral customs are also very similar to those of other iranian peoples and traditions
