دانش نام‌شناسی و پژوهش‌های علوم تاریخی

نام‌شناسی (onomastics)، دانش مطالعه نام هاست از هر نوع و در هر دوره تاریخی که باشند. هدف این دانش، اسامی خاص و در واقع هرچیزی است که نامی بر آن تعلق گیرد. موضوع این دانش می تواند حوزه های گوناگون با اهداف گسترده پژوهشی باشد. هدف از نگارش این مقاله تبیین جنبه های گوناگون نام‌شناسی و بیان دانش های مرتبط با آن و همچنین توضیح ضرورت پرداختن به این دانش است.  نشان دادن پیشینه توجه به این موضوع به‌صورت مستقیم و غیرمستقیم و روشن‌ساختن جایگاه این دانش در مطالعات علمی ایران، هدف دیگر نگارش این مقاله است. ازآنجاکه شیوه نام گذاری با جغرافیا، زبان، دین و زمان تغییر می کند، بررسی روند این تغییرات در زمان ها و مکان های گوناگون می تواند در مسائل مختلف کارگشا باشد. درحقیقت آنچه سبب اهمیت «اسامی خاص» می شود، کارکردهای فرهنگی، اجتماعی، سیاسی، تاریخی، زبان شناسی، سندشناسی، باستان شناسی و شاخه های بسیار دیگر است که می تواند نتایج مهم و کاربردی ازجمله روشن‌شدن علت تغییر نام های افراد و اماکن در دوره های تاریخی مختلف و همچنین میزان نفوذ زبان های گوناگون در جغرافیایی خاص و بسیاری نتایج دیگر را به‌دست‌دهد. همچنین نام‌شناسی در ایران نیازمند پژوهش های بیشتر در شاخه های گوناگون است؛ چراکه بیشتر تحقیقات نام‌شناسی انجام شده دربارۀ اسامی ایران اسلامی به دوره معاصر اختصاص دارد و به پیش از این دوره، کمتر توجه شده است.

Onomastics and Historical Sciences Studies

Onomastics (or onomatology) refers to the study of proper names of any kind including the names of people (anthroponyms) and places (toponyms). The purpose of this article is to explain different aspects of onomastics and its related knowledge, as well as its necessity and importance. Scrutinizing onomastics research background and the status of this knowledge in scientific studies of Iran is the other purpose of this article. Since names change with geography, language, religion, and time, studying the process of these changes at different historical periods and geographical areas can answer many questions. In fact, the importance of Onomastics is its secondary functions, such as cultural, social, political, and historical ones, which can have important results. For instance, it can determine the reasons for the changes in the names of people and places in different historical periods as well as the extent of the influence of different languages ​​in a particular geographical area. It is important to consider that onomastics in Iran requires further research in various branches; because most of the studies on names are devoted to the contemporary period and the names before this period have been given less attention.
