   Synthesis, Antinociceptive, Antiinflammatory and Antiepileptic Evaluation of Some Novel Indeno[l, 2-b] Quinoxalin-11-ylidenamines

چکیده    A series of novel indeno[l, 2-b]quinoxalin-ll-ylidenamines 2-9 have beensynthesized via condensation of indane[l, 2-b]quinoxalin-ll-one (1) with variousprimary aromatic amines in presence of acoh for 3 h. compound 1 was synthesizedby condensation of indane-1 ,2,3-trione with benzene-1,2-diamine in presence ofacoh. the synthesized compounds were characterized by ir, ih-nmr;' massspectra and elemental analysis. compounds 2-9 were screened for anti-nociceptive,anti-inflammatory and antiepileptic activity by acoh induced writhing method,carrageenan induced paw edema method and maximal electroshock inducedconvulsion method respectively. out of the eight synthesized compounds, indeno[l,2-b ]quinoxalin-ll-ylidine (4-nitrophenyl)amine (3) exhibited promising antiinflammatoryactivity and anti-nociceptive activity. n-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-n'-(indeno[l,2-b]quinoxalin-ll-ylidene)hydrazine (7) showed promising anti inflammatoryactivity, anti-nociceptive activity, and antiepileptic activity, whereasn4-indeno[1, 2-b]quinoxalin-ll -ylidene biphenyl-4,4'-diarnine (8) showed promisinganti-inflammatory activity.
