The Roles of Hydrotherapy on the Physical Rehabilitation of Patients with Osteochondrosis in the Lumbar Division of the Vertebra

Osteochondrosis is often called ocd and it is quite common in people. although trauma, genetic factors and ischemia play significant roles, the exact etiology remains unknown. in humans, there are both familial and racial tendencies. ocd ultimately leads to degenerative joint disease and this lesion tends to occur in specific locations .in recent years, ocd has been reported in the joints of the spine. osteochondritis is a challenging clinical problem. recent studies found that hydrotherapy between others therapy methods, such as pharmacotherapy and physiotherapy is particularly beneficial for patients with ocd. the purpose of the present study was to consider of hydrotherapy on physical rehabilitation of hospitalized patients that are suffering from osteochondrosis in the lumbar division of the vertebra. they included 30 (18 female, 12 male) voluntarily patients (23- 60 yr) participated in this study. they were randomly divided into two groups, control group(c), (n= 15) and experimental group (e), (n= 15). they selected during 2000 to 2002 in the moscow hospital n2 15. physical and psychological test carried on before and after the rehabilitation. analyzing the results shows the decrease of pain in the lumbar section, increases the range of motion in the joints of lower limbs, increase of range of motion in the vertebra, decreases of depression, increases of health 'mood & activity, increases of muscle strength in experimental group more than control group after rehabilitation. in conclusion, hydrotherapy have favorable effects on treatments process of patients with osteochondrosis in the lumbar division of the vertebra.
