چکیده
|
Thermal conductivity of thermoplastic natural rubber (tpnr) composite filled with 0-30% weight percentage of stainless steel particle has been determined using the rapid thermal conductivity apparatus and the results has been compared to the existing thermal conductivity theories. transient dynamic analysis has been carried out using the step function heating method. the values obtained for thermal conductivity was in the range of 0.2177 0.3387 w/mk. the result shows that the thermal conductivity increases as the percentage of stainless steel filler is increased up to 15%. however, thermal conductivity value showed a slight dropped of 0.7% at 20% filler content which might be due to data uncertainties. the value increase again until the maximum value of 0.3387 w/mk at 30%. the experimental errors of measurement are between 12-18% based on the standard deviation of 0.04. the experimental results were compared with the existing thermal conductivity mathematical models. from the graph plotted, it is observed that the thermal conductivity models gave lower values compared to the experimental results. it is found that the conductivity is best predicted by the russell equation
