بازشناسی‌ مقولة‌ «ولایت»، بازشناسیِ‌ «توحید ناب» اعم‌ از توحید معرفتی، توحید صدری، توحید وجودی‌ و توحید شهودی‌ است؛ چه‌ این‌که‌ موحٍّد ناب‌ و کامل‌ نیز در «ولایت‌شناسی» تجلی‌ می‌یابد. ولایت‌ عرفانی، بیت‌الغزل‌ عرفان‌ اصیل‌ و معرفت‌ حق‌ و اسمای‌ حسنای‌ الاهی‌ و اوصاف‌ عُلیای‌ حق‌ است‌ که‌ روح‌ و جوهر عرفان‌ به‌ شمار می‌رود و «ولایت»، تجلی‌ آن‌ حقیقت‌ معرفت‌ و معرفت‌ حقیقی‌ است. «ولایت» را که‌ نقطة‌ اوج‌ تکامل‌ انسان‌ در عالَم‌ عرفان‌ و سیر و سلوک، و فصل‌ ممیز حقیقت‌ انسانی‌ و انسان‌ حقیقی، کمال‌ انسانی‌ و انسان‌ کامل‌ از ماسوای‌ خویش‌ در عالم‌ و آدم‌ است‌ و علامت‌ سُفرای‌ الاهی‌ و سالکان‌ کوی‌ دوست‌ به‌شمار می‌رود. عرفای اسلامی هر کدام در آثار خود به تبیین و تشریح عقاید خود در این مورد پرداخته اند. هر چند شیوه های موجود تنها در ظاهر مختلفند اما در باطن حکایت از یک شیوه دارند. با عنایت به اهمیت موضوع و تکثر آراء، دراین مقاله سیری‌ کوتاه‌ و مجمل‌ به‌ نظریه ولایت در آراء شیخ محمود شبستری ، عطار نیشابوری ، علامه طباطبایی و مقایسه و تطبیق آنها با هم به شیوه کتابخانه‌ای، شده است
