   Effect of DEHP (Di-2-Ethyl Hexyl-Phthalate) on Resumption of Meiosis and in-vitro Maturation of Mouse Oocytes and Development of Itesulting Embryos

چکیده    Introduction: dehp [di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate)] is widely usedin plastic industry and some reproductive toxicity has been shownwith it. so, this study was designed to evaluate dehp effects onresumption of meiosis and in vitro maturation of mouse oocytesas well as development of embryos resulted from them.material and methods: mice of 4-6 weeks old were administereddaily doses of 50, 100, 200 j.l1 of 2.56 j.lm dehp solution for 12 days.immature mouse oocytes were recovered from all experimentalgroups and matured in mem-a medium containing 5% fcs with andwithout 7.5 iu hcg and 100 mfu rfsh. ivf was performed t6medium.results: resumption of meiosis and in vitro maturation weresignificantly lower in all experimental groups in culture media withouthormones compared to controls. fertilization and embryodevelopment were also significantly decreased in both culture media(with and without hormones).conclusions: this study showed the adverse effects of dehp onin vitro maturation and embryo development in a dose dependentmanner.
