Effect of Anti Bacterial Skin Secretion of IIRana ridibanda Frog on Methycillin Resistant Staph Aureus

The dorsal skin of the iranian frog, rana ridibanda, is associated withnumerous prominent granular glands which extract their secretions inthe response to stressor or invading pathogens .the secretions havebroad spectrum antimicrobial effects. in this research the effect ofantimicrobial skin secretions from iranian frog (rana ridibanda) hasbeen examined against gram positive methycillin resistant staphaureus (mrsa), under sterile conditions. to show this effect, tern- offrog skin was cultured in complete tissue culture medium containingrpmi, fbs and fungison for the period of 10 days. immediatelyafter, mrsa was exposed to frog skin secretion (medium culture) andvancomycin. the results showed that the frog skin secretions hassignificant antimicrobial effect against mrsa. the range of inhibitionzonefor mrsa was the sameas (20mm) vancomycin in diskmethod.in minimum inhibitory concentration method, for mrsa, the tube 1/8was positive.
