Hepatic Artery Chemoembolization for Management of Patient with Advanced Metastatic Carcinoid Tumor: A Case Report

Liver metastases from carcinoid tumorsare usually diffuse at the time of diagnosis,and surgical resection is rarelyfeasible. the development and clinicalapplication of an analog of somatostatinhas provided a novel and frequentlyhighly effective tool for control of carcinoid tumors;most patients however, become resistant tothis therapy. arterial hypervascularization ofmost liver metastases from carcinoid tumor arguesin favor of hepatic arterial chemoembolization.we report here a patient with carcinoid tumorwith liver metastasis who has substantialtumor regression with hepatic artery chernoembolization
