   Maternal and Neonatal Oxytocin Levels During Cesarean Section With or Without Labor Pain and Puerperal Complications

چکیده    the role of oxytocin (oxt), found in the t cerebrospinal fluid (csf), circulationand umbilical cord blood, in regulationthe timing and initiation of labor andpuerperal complications is controversial.this study was designed to clarify the possiblerole of maternal and fetal oxt in the onsetof labor and puerperal complications by comparingthe parameters in two groups of pregnantwomen undergoing cesarean section (cs) afterthe onset of labor, or elective cs.material and methods: in this study, oxt levelswere measured in plasma, csf and umbilicalcord in two groups of pregnant women who underwentcs, one group with the onset of laborand the other without it. puerperal complicationswere detected and the results of bothgroups were compared.results: no significant differences were noticedbetween the two groups in the plasma, csf, andumbilical cord levels of oxt (p>o.05). theamount of postoperative hemorrhage and intensityof after pain in the group with the onset oflabor were less than those without labor(p
