Relation Between Leptin and Insulin in Patients With Type II Diabetes Mellitus

Since leptin and insulin are reported tocontrol glucose metabolism, a relationshipbetween these two hormoness hould reveal the metabolic effect ofthem hormones on glucose metabolism. in thi sstudy, the relationship between leptin and insulinwas evaluated in obese type ii diabetic patients,bml>30 kg/m? (group a), and non-obesetype ii diabetic patients, bmi <2skw m2 (groupb).materials and methods: '19 subjects were studjed.of these, 32 subjects (4 male and 28 female)were group a and 17 subjects (8 male and 9 female)were group b; both groups were analyzedfor leptin, insulin, and hba1c.
