چکیده    Plant tissue culture refers to growing and multiplication of cells, tissuesand organs of plants on defined solid or liquid media under aseptic andcontrolled environment. micropropagation allows rapid production of highquality, disease-free and uniform planting material. the micropropagation ofhigh quality planting materials of ornamentals, and forest and fruit trees hascreated new opportunities in global trading for producers, farmers, and nurseryowners, and for rural employment. a substantial number of micropropagatedplants do not survive transfer from in vitro conditions to greenhouse or fieldenvironments. the greenhouse and field have substantially lower relativehumidity, higher light level and septic environment that are stressful to micropropagatedplants compared to in vitro conditions. it is possible to acclimatizeplantlets during in vitro as well as in vivo by various methods and thereby facilitatingthe successful transfer of in vitro cultured plantlets to soil.
