چکیده
|
Animal bones are among the key materials used as active carbon to filter impurities from water and transformed into bio ceramics for the supply of calcium in the water. most of these bones in the industry are derived from sources with questionable legal status. thus, the objective of this study is to evaluate the use of animal bones in water filter products from the islamic perspective. qualitative research methodology was based on the analysis of documents and interviews. the researchers have chosen hijrah water company sdn. bhd. as the location for research due to its capacity as a leading company in malaysia which produces halal water filter. the results showed that the water filter products from pork bones and animals that are unslaughtered according to shariah is illegal because of the incomplete istihalah which has occurred, in accordance to the shafi'i sect. as an alternative to animal bones, ingredients from natural sources such as coconut shells, bamboo, seashells and tilapia fish scales can be used as water filter media as it is guaranteed halal. further research can be done on other companies that produce halal media to replace the animal bones in water filter.
