دکتر سکینه دره‌السادات طباطبائی شهاب؛ محقق برجسته بیماری سل در انستیتو پاستور ایران

زمینه و هدف: انستیتو پاستور ایران به عنوان یکی از قدیمی‌ترین مراکز تحقیقاتی و تشخیصی کشور نقش مهمی در کنترل بیماری‌های عفونی در ایران و جهان داشته است. دکتر سکینه دره‌السادات طباطبائی شهاب (1380-1293 ش.)، پزشک و متخصص علوم آزمایشگاهی، از محققین برجسته این موسسه بود که عمدتاً بر سل و سایر بیماری‌های عفونی تمرکز داشت. این مقاله قصد دارد خدمات این دانشمند بزرگ ایرانی را مرور کند.روش: اطلاعات در مورد دکتر طباطبائی شهاب و فعالیت‌های ایشان در انستیتو پاستور ایران از منابع مختلف اعم از اسناد، مقالات و مصاحبه با افراد آگاه جمع‌آوری شده است.ملاحظات اخلاقی: در پژوهش حاضر جنبه‌های اخلاقی مطالعه کتابخانه‌ای شامل اصالت متون، صداقت و امانتداری رعایت شده است.یافته‌ها: این مقاله با مطالعه مستندات موجود به مرور زندگی و فعالیت‌های ارزشمند دکتر طباطبائی شهاب در زمینه بیماری سل می‌پردازد. زحمات مستمر و بی‌وقفه و خدمات ارزنده ایشان در ایران و جهان در دوران حیات ایشان به وضوح نمایان است.نتیجه‌گیری: دکتر طباطبایی شهاب نه‌تنها در ایران، بلکه در عرصه بین‌المللی به افتخارات علمی قابل توجهی دست یافت. خدمات گران‌بهای ایشان در انستیتو پاستور ایران چراغی برای پژوهشگران به ویژه بانوان در خدمت به جامعه بشری خواهد بود.

background and aim: pasteur institute of iran, as one of the oldest research and treatmentcenters in the country, plays an important role in controlling infectious diseases in iran and theworld. dr. sakineh dora al-sadat tabatabaie shahab (1914-2001), physician and specialist inlaboratory science, was a prominent researcher at the institute who mainly focused ontuberculosis and other infectious diseases. this article aims to highlight the services of this greatiranian scientist.methods: information about dr.tabatabaei shahab and her activities in pasteur institute of iranwere collected from various sources including documents, articles and interviews withknowledgeable people.ethical considerations: in all stages of the research, the principles of honesty andtrustworthiness have been fully observed.results: this article reviews the life and valuable activities of dr.tabatabai shahab in the fieldof tuberculosis by studying the available documents. her continuous and unrelenting efforts andvaluable services in iran and the world are clearly evident during his life.conclusion: dr.tabatabai shahab achieved significant scientific honors not only in iran but alsoin the international scene. her precious services in pasteur institute of iran will be a light forresearchers, especially women, in serving the human society.
