تقلیل و برایش در فلسفه شیمی: مروری نقادانه

اخیرا در مطبوعات فلسفه علم، مقوله ای تحت عنوان «فلسفه شیمی» به چشم می خورد. بخشی از آثار به طبع رسیده در این مقوله، به بیان ظرفیت های علم شیمی برای فلسفه ی علم و لزوم توجه فلاسفه ى علم به علم شیمی اختصاص دارد. مسئله ی تقلیل ( reduction) و برایش ( emergence) از مسائل فلسفه علم است که در فلسفه شیمی نیز محل بحث است و آرایی در بیان اهمیت علم شیمی در بررسی آنها به چشم می خورد. در این مقاله، به نقد و بررسی برخی از این آرا می پردازیم. در این میان، به معرفی و بررسی مفاهیم پیچیدگی وجود شناسانه و پیچیدگی معرفت شناسانه و رابطه ی آنها باهم می پردازیم. معتقدیم خلط بین این دو مفهوم در بخشی از این آرا، موجبات شکل گیری مغالطه ای پنهان شده است. موضع خود را در این مورد بیان کرده، سعی می کنیم با ارائه مورد کاوی هایی در زمینه تقلیل و برایش در علوم، از آن پشتیبانی کنیم

An Examination about Reduction and Emergence in Chemistry: Review And Criticism Of Alex Manafu’s arguments

Two concepts that are being considered in Philosophy of Chemistry are Reduction and Emergence. These concepts have a major rule in arguing that special sciences, have kind of independence from physics. After sketching a conceptual framework about the issue, we have had a critical review about Alex Manafu’s argument about the rule of chemistry in debate about Reduction and Emergence in Philosophy of Science.He argue that chemistry has some special advantages in study of Reduction and Emergence in Philosophy of Science. we have showed that his argument cannot give us a firm ground for attaching these advantages to Chemistry. We then propose a distinction between Ontological complexity and Epistemological complexity and then show how Manafu’s arguments are faulty due to ignoring this distinction
