بدعت و راست‌کیشی در مسیحیت نخستین با نگاهی به نظرات والتر بائر

دین مسیحیت از دل شریعت سخت‌گیر یهود پدیدار شد و به تدریج راه خود را جدا کرد. نوشته‌های پدران کلیسا مویّد آن است که ایشان ضمن ترسیم ابعاد راست‌کیشی، سایر نظرات را بدعت می‌دانستند. ایشان دیدگاه خود را تنها خوانش صحیح از مسیحیت که منطبق بر تعالیم عیسی و رسولان بود، تلقّی کرده و بر مبارزه با بدعت‌گذاران تاکید داشتند. روی‌کار آمدن حکومت مسیحی در قرن چهارم، دایره قدرت اصحاب کلیسا را بیشتر و عرصه را بر سایرین تنگ‌تر کرد. این باور که مسیحیت نخستین از تنوّع و تکثّر برخوردار نبوده و نظرات کلیسای رُم تنها قرائت موجود و صحیح بوده است تا قرن گذشته در بین محققان مقبول بود. اما اوّل بار والتر بائر، پژوهشگر صدر مسیحیت، با نگارش کتابی این نظریه را مورد نقد قرار داد. وی با آوردن شواهد گوناگون کوشید تا در تعریف مسیحیت اوّلیه از منظر تاریخی و مستقل از دیدگاه‌های کلیسای کاتولیک تجدید نظر کند. بر مبنای تحقیقات او مسیحیت از ابتدا متنوّع بوده و ما شاهد وجود «انواع مسیحیت» هستیم که کلیسای رُم آنها را بر نتابیده و در پی گسترش نفوذ خود، سعی در از میان بر داشتن دیگر عقاید داشت، امری که با مسیحی شدن امپراتوری روم سرعت بیشتری یافت.

Heresy and Orthodoxy in Early Christianity with According to Walter Bauer’s Work

Christianity emerged from the Strict Jewish religion and over time they gradually parted ways. The Early Church Fathers’ Writings confirm that the dimensions of orthodoxy were drew and considered other ideas as heresy. They saw their view as the only correct reading of Christianity that was consistent with the teachings of Jesus and the apostles, and emphasized the struggle against heretics. The advent of Christian rule in the fourth century increased the power of the church and narrowed the field to others. Until the last century, this belief that early Christianity did not have diversity and that the views of the Church of Rome were the only correct reading was accepted by scholars. But Walter Bauer, a scholar of early Christianity, criticized this theory in his book. He tried to reconsider the definition of early Christianity from a historical point of view, independent of the views of the Catholic Church, by presenting various evidences. According to his research, Christianity has been diverse from the beginning, and we are witnessing the existence of &types of Christianity.& The Church of Rome did not tolerate them and tried to eradicate their other beliefs, which accelerated with the Christianization of the Roman Empire.
