   experimental evaluation of vertical shaft efficiency in vortex flow energy dissipation

چکیده    In this research, the flow energy dissipation rate was measured in the vertical shaft of the vortex drop shaft experimentally. also, the impacts of the inflow froude number and the inlet structure bottom slope on the flow energy dissipation rate in the vertical shaft were investigated. the experiments are designed using the experimental design by full factorial method. by changing the parameters, the flow energy dissipation rate varied from 26.71 to 51.85%. the experimental data demonstrated that increasing the inflow froude number and the inlet bottom slope will result in the reduction of the energy dissipation rate in the vertical shaft. according to the experiments, to create a smooth, supercritical flow in the inlet channel and the inlet structure, the slope bottom is recommended to be at least 0.4. furthermore, according to the experimental data, a nonlinear equation was proposed for determining the energy dissipation rate in the vertical shaft.
