هدف: مقاله حاضر با رویکرد بررسی و تبیین ویژگی های اخلاقی و معرفتی شهید سلیمانی در تعامل با جامعه بوده که موجب الگویی ممتاز در میان شخصیت های نظامی و سیاسی گشته است.روش‌شناسی پژوهش: این نوشتار با روش تحلیل اسنادی که درصدد شناسایی و ترسیم روابط پدیده ها به کمک کنکاش در داده ها و تحقیقات قبلی بوده، تدوین گشته است.یافته ها: یافته ها حاکی است که خویشتن داری محور شخصیتی ایشان، ضمن معرفی به عنوان الگوی نمونه، مجموعه ای از شاخص های اخلاق کاربردی و عملی را به نمایش خواهد گذاشت و درنتیجه بتوان از آثار اجتماعی و سیاسی آن که در کمال و سعادت آدمی موثر عمل می نماید، بهره مند شد.نتیجه گیری: سکینه نفس انسان در تقابل با حوادث می تواند دچار لغزش شود و در صورتی که تقید به فضایل و در راس آن ها، خویشتن داری را سرلوحه قرار دهد، قادر به رشد نفس تا بدانجایی است که در کوران حوادث، مسالمت جویی را مورد مداقه قرار دهد.
