Identification the Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensisy Biotypes in Three Areas of Tehran Province

Morphophysiological variations of field bindweed populations in tehran provincewas studied during 2006 and 2007 growing seasons using multivariate analysismethods. to determine the variations, 43 morphological and physiologicalcharacters were considered biometrically. the main characters at principalcomponent analysis (pca) consisted of leaf dry weight. shoot dry weight. and leafarea to identify the biotypes. but, the populations were identified based onallometric variables. particularly root weight ratio. the results suggested that fieldbindweed ecotypes have been formed while the species adapted to specificgeographic locations. factor analysis based on rca revealed that twelve factorscomprise almost 85% of total variations for field bindweed populations in threelocations of tehran province. phenological and morphological variabilities amongbiotypes may explain the survival and adaptability of a population of thisweed as a result of environmental and field management changes
