The micromorphology and distribution of trichomes in leaf surfaces of speciesbelonging to morus, ficus, broussonetiaand madura which are native or cultivated in iran werestudied. three types of trichomes including; glandular, nonglandular and cystolith trichomes showedcharacteristicfeatures in thesegenera of moraceae. glandular trichomes are usuallywith short stalk and spherical or elongatedhead. the nonglandular trichomes are unicellular but differentiatedinto 3 types as large, bristle and bracket types. cystolith trichomes withswollen base and mucronate apex are alsopresent.
