   Transport studies of carboxymethyl cellulose/ chitosan-ammonium bromide biopolymer blend electrolytes as an ionic conductor

چکیده    Cellulose and chitin derivative-based biopolymer electrolytes have a great potential for application in solid state electrochemical devices. in the present work,carboxymethyl cellulose (cmc)/ chitosan (cs) biopolymer blend electrolytes (bbes) incorporated with different ammonium bromide (nh4br) composition were prepared using solution casting technique. the correlations between ionic conductivity and transport mechanism of bbes have been investigated using electrical impedance spectroscopy (eis) and dc polarization technique. calculation using rice and roth model shows the increase of ionic conductivity,σ was influenced by ionic mobility,μ and diffusion coefficient,d. the conducting species in bbe system is predominantly due to ion (t+ ~1) as evidenced by the majority of the ionic transference number. this study confirmed that the cmc/cs-nh4br bbe is a proton conductor. © 2017 penerbit umt.
