چکیده    In this study, the new quercetin functionalized active peanut shell/ fe3o4 (quercetin/aps- fe3o4) composite adsorbent was introduced to remove nickel ions from water. the co-precipitation method was used to synthesize quercetin-functionalized porous aps- fe3o4 particles. this adsorbent was characterized, and then the affecting parameters on removal efficiency were studied in batch adsorption experiments. according to the results, a maximum ni (ii) ion removal efficiency was achieved of 99% under conditions of 50 mg/l initial concentration, ph of 7, 24 g/l adsorbent dosage, and temperature of 45°c. the sorption of the ni (ii) ions to quercetin/aps- fe3o4 composite adsorbent reached equilibrium in less than 60 min, and the langmuir model accurately describes it with a maximum adsorption capacity of 333.3 mg/g. also, the pseudo-second order mechanism provided the most accurate model of the kinetic data. results from thermodynamic parameters demonstrated the endothermic, spontaneous, and feasible nature of ni (ii) ion adsorption onto the quercetin/aps-fe3o4.
