It is meaningful to develop rapid adsorption materials for organic pollutants. metal-organic frameworks (mofs) are efficient adsorbents for organic contaminants. the uio-66-nh-edta-fe was synthesized with the precursor of uio-66-nh2. the uio-66-nh-edta-fe was characterized with xrd, xps, ft-ir spectra, brunauer–emmett–teller, and tga. the influence of ph, temperature, and the adsorbent dosage on adsorption performance was investigated. the maximum adsorption capacity of uio-66-nh-edta-fe was 668.7 mg/g for ds (diclofenac sodium). moreover, the equilibrium time only required 5 min, which was shorter than the recently reported works. the ds adsorption behavior on uio-66-nh-edta-fe was very close to the pseudo-second-order kinetics models. the langmuir model was more suitable for illustrating the adsorption isotherms of ds adsorption. the presence of nacl and na2so4 could influence the adsorption performance of ds. in addition, uio-66-nh-edta-fe can be reused no fewer than 3 times. finally, the potential of uio-66-nh-edta-fe was considered as a novel adsorbent for the removal of diclofenac sodium (ds).
