نقد روش‌شناسی آرتور جفری در تحلیل واژگان دخیل قرآن

واژگان دخیل، الفاظ مفرد غیرعربی هستند که از زبانی دیگر وارد لغت عربی شده و در معنایی یکسان و لفظی مشابه [و یا با اندک تفاوت] به کار می‌روند. مدعیان و منکران وجود این دسته واژگان در قرآن کریم، به شواهد و دلایل تاریخی و زبان‌شناسی استناد می‌کنند و روش‌های متفاوتی را برای بررسی آن پی می‌گیرند. تعیین روش صحیح برای بررسی واژگان دخیل در قرآن ازآن‌رو دارای اهمیت است که راه را بر سوءاستفاده‌هایی همچون ادعای تاثیرپذیری قرآن از فرهنگ زمانه و متون غیرعربی عصر نزول می‌بندد. خاورشناسان با انگیزه‌های گوناگونی به مطالعه این موضوع پرداخته و نگاشته‌های متعددی را در دو سده اخیر به نگارش درآورده‌اند. دراین‌بین، آرتور جفری، نویسنده کتاب «واژگان دخیل در قرآن» از شهرت ویژه‌ای برخوردار است. جفری با کشف ریشه‌های تاریخی، گاه با توجه به اصل ساختاری و گاه کاربرد واژگان به توضیح بیش از 320 واژه از واژگان قرآنی پرداخته و مدعی دخیل بودن آن‌ها شده است. بهره‌گیری از روش توصیفی تحلیلی و انتقادی نشان می‌دهد، مطالعات جفری در این زمینه به آسیب‌هایی روشی مبتلا شده است؛ همچون دخالت دادن برخی پیش‌فرض‌های نادرست، درک نادرست از ویژگی‌های قرآن، تتبع و استقرای ناقص، داوری‌های حدسی و غیر عالمانه بوده که به اظهارنظرهای وی جهت‌دهی داده و منجر به برخی قضاوت‌ها و برداشت‌های نادرست در تعیین مصداق واژگان دخیل و چرایی کاربرد آن‌ها در قرآن شده است.

In the meantime, Arthur Jeffrey, author of The Words Involved in the Quran, has a special reputation. Jeffrey, by discovering historical roots, sometimes according to the structural principle and sometimes the usage of words, has explained more than 320 words of Quranic words and claimed that they are involved words. The usages of descriptiveanalytical and critical methods indicate that Jeffrey’s studies in this field have suffered from methodological problems; Such as including some incorrect assumptions, misunderstanding of the characteristics of the Quran, incomplete derivation and induction, conjectural and unscientific judgments that have guided his statements and led to some judgments and misconceptions in determining the meaning of the words involved and why they are used in the Quran
