بررسی ارتباط میان «جهاد» و گفتمان آخرالزمانی از منظر دیوید کوک

در دهه‌های اخیر جهانیان شاهد ظهور گروه‌های تروریستی و جهادی بوده‌اند که هرکدام به نحوی با پسوند اسلامی و گسترش اقدامات غیرانسانی مسئله «جهاد»، «آخرالزمان» و رخدادهای «پایان دنیا» را به چالش کشیده‌اند. چنین کنش‌هایی مقدمات تحقیقات گسترده اسلام‌پژوهان غربی را در این زمینه فراهم آورده است تا آنجا که برخی به بررسی ارتباط تنگاتنگ میان این سه مقوله پرداخته‌اند. دیوید کوک (david cook) از جمله صاحب‌نظران این عرصه است که مکتوبات بسیاری درزمینه جهاد، شهادت و گفتمان‌های آخرالزمانی به رشته تحریر درآورده و معتقد است، ارتباطی مستقیم میان این مباحث وجود دارد. این نوشتار با روش توصیفی تحلیلی، با رویکردی انتقادی، ارتباط میان جهاد و گفتمان آخرالزمانی را از منظر دیوید کوک مورد واکاوی قرار داده است. کوک، عامل گسترش اسلام و فتوحات مسلمانان را اعتقاد به وقوع قیامت در آینده‌ای نزدیک می‌داند؛ زیرا معتقد است تا این تاریخ‌گذاری نهایی در ذهن مجاهد نقش نبندد، آمادگی برای حضور در جنگ و تحمل مشکلات و مصائب آن وجود نخواهد داشت و زمینه‌ساز این تفکر، آیات قرآن در خصوص قریب‌الوقوع بودن پایان دنیا و نیز برخی روایات هستند. پژوهش حاضر نشان می‌دهد که خاستگاه چنین نظرگاهی، از یک‌سو در پیش گرفتن رویکردی سطحی و گزینشی در استدلال به آیات و روایات است و از سوی دیگر اتخاذ پیش‌فرض جنگ‌طلب و خشونت‌آمیز بودن آموزه جهاد در اسلام است.

An Examination of David Cook’s Viewpoints Concerning the Relationship between Jihad and Apocalypse / Eschaton Discourse

In recent decades, the people of the world have witnessed the appearance of terrorist and jihadist groups, that each of them has somehow challenged the issue of jihad, the apocalypse and the events of the end of the world with the Islamic suffix and the spread of nonhuman actions. These actions have provided the ground for extensive Islamic researches by western scholars, so far as that some scholars have pay attention deeply to the close relationship between these three topics. David Cook is one of the wellknown specialists in this field who has written several books and articles on “jihad”, martyrdom and apocalyptic literature and believes that there is a direct and strong connection between these issues. This article seeks to investigate the viewpoints of David Cook about the relationship between “jihad” and apocalyptic literature in a descriptiveanalytical method by the critical approach. Cook thinks that the belief in the imminent end of the world is the principal factor of the spread of Islam and the conquests of Muslims; because without this final date in mind, it would have been difficult for Muslim fighters to participate in the war and endure its problems and suffering. Indeed, the basis of this kind of thinking is the verses of the Qur’an about the imminent end of the world and some traditions. On the one hand, the present study indicates that the origin of such a viewpoint is to have a superficial and selective approach in reasoning to verses and hadiths, and on the other hand, to adopt the presumption of belligerence and violence nature of the doctrine of “jihad” in Islam.
