A METHOD FOR EVALUATION OF DYNAMIC TYRE MODELS SUITABLE FOR HANDLING ANALYSIS ON ROUGH SURFACES

The availability of a dynamic tyre model suitable for incorporating into the combined vehicle handling-ride model was investigated from a comprehensive review of the literature. two potential models were selected for a detailed investigation and examination of the cases of fluctuating slip angle and normal load that occur when vehicle travels on a rough road. it was shown that the actual properties of tyre models were not evident from those results originally presented. by making use of the proposed method however, the dynamic aspects associated with the models were fully revealed. it was shown the model-1 was insensitive to slip angle variations, and that the model-2 produced wrong results for slip angle fluctuations, in conflict with those experimentally observed by many authors.
