In recent years attention paid to modern management tools by manufacturing and service firms, reveals the effective role these tools play in the performance of a firm. among these tools, benchmarking has a special position because of its capabilities and because of its importance in total quality management methods. this paper illustrates the implantation of the benchmarking in a car part production industry in order to assess its impact on the improvement of the industry's performance and productivity
