Sikap Terhadap Sains dalam Kalangan Pelajar Sains di Peringkat Menengah dan Matrikulasi

The lack of students' participation in the field of science at both school and university levels is a concern for all parties. attitude research might have something to offer in providing possible explanation for the persisting problem of the alienation of students from science. this study aims to determine the level of students' attitudes towards science according to educational levels. a set of questionnaire was used in this survey. the questionnaire was adapted and its reliability is 0.70. a total of 493 students of forms 2 and 4, and matriculation responded to the questionnaires on attitudes towards science. the questionnaire has 48 items and it is multidimensional (i.e. perception towards science teachers, anxiety towards science, value of science in society, self concept, enjoyment and motivation in science). the findings indicated that students' self concept and motivation in science require further attention compared to the other dimensions of attitudes towards science. both dimensions are predictors to students' involvement in science at higher educational level and the society in the future.
