مطالعۀ جامعه‌شناختیِ تنهایی در بین سالمندان در شهر شیراز: یک نظریۀ زمینه‌ای

«تنهایی» به‌عنوان یکی از مسائل اجتماعی سالمندان در سراسر جهان، به‌سرعت درحال‌شیوع است. اگرچه، تحقیقات متعددی در این زمینه انجام شده است، اما زوایای این مسئله نیاز به شناخت جامع‌تر دارد. هدف این پژوهش واکاوی «تنهایی» در بین سالمندان شهر شیراز با استفاده از نظریۀ زمینه‌ای است. روش جمع‌آوری اطلاعات، مصاحبۀ عمیق نیمه‌ساختاریافته بود. مشارکت‌کنندگان، 14 نفر سالمند بودند که با روش نمونه‌گیری هدفمند برگزیده شدند. داده‌های جمع‌آوری‌شده در قالبِ کدهای باز، محوری و انتخابی، کدگذاری گردیدند که منجر به استخراج 9 مقولۀ اصلی شد. بر اساس نتایج حاصل از تحلیل داده‌ها، کمبودِ حمایتِ اجتماعی و افولِ سرمایۀ اجتماعی، شرایط علّی «تنهایی» بودند، فقدانِ مهارت، شرایطِ مداخله‌گرِ «تنهایی» بود و تغییراتِ اجتماعی سریع و آسیب‌های اجتماعی، به عنوان شرایط زمینه‌ای وقوع «تنهایی» شناسایی شدند. به‌علاوه، استفاده از فضای مجازی، مدیریت اوقات فراغت و مثبت‌اندیشی، استراتژی سالمندان در مواجهه با «تنهایی» و اختلال در زندگی، پیامدِ «تنهایی» بود. نُه مقولۀ اصلی پژوهش منجر به کشفِ مقولۀ هسته با عنوان «تنهایی، تجربه‌ای دردآور» گردید. بر اساس نتایج این پژوهش، «تنهاییِ» سالمندان پدیده‌ای «دردآور» هم برای سالمندان و هم برای جامعه است و ضرورت دارد با شناخت جامعِ «تنهایی»، تسکین و تقلیل آن مد‌نظر سیاست‌گذاران و برنامه‌ریزان سالمندی قرار گیرد.

sociological study of loneliness among the elderly in shiraz: a grounded theory

loneliness as a social problem among the elderly is on the rise worldwide. although, numerous researches have been carried out in this line, it still requires more comprehensive understanding. the main objective of this research is to study the loneliness among the elderly in shiraz through the use of the grounded theory. the data was collected by means of an in-depth and semi-structured interview. the participants were 14 people who were chosen purposefully. the data was coded in a frame of open, axial, and selective coding, resulting in 9 categories. the shortfall of social support and the decline in social capital are the causal conditions of loneliness, lack of skill is the intervening condition, and the rapid social change and social pathologies are the context conditions of loneliness. furthermore, using cyberspace, managing leisure time, and practicing positive thinking are strategies of the elderly in confronting the loneliness, and finally, the distress is the consequence of the loneliness for the elderly. nine categories resulted in extracting the core category of “loneliness as a painful experience”. to sum up, loneliness is a painful experience for the elderly and the society, and it needs to be alleviated and decreased by the policy makers using the comprehensive understanding.
