چکیده    Background: numerous studies have now demonstrated thatheart failure with a normal ejection fraction (hfnlef) is common.hypertension is also the most commonly associated cardiaccondition in patients with hfnlef. despite the observed linkbetween microalbuminuria, obesity, and cardiovascular disorders, this question has remained ? ‘which is more important for theprediction and prevention of diastolic dysfunction in non?diabetichypertensive patients?’methods: the current study was a cross?section study conductedon a total of 126 non?diabetic hypertensive patients screened toidentify those with hypertension. urine creatinine was measuredby the picric acid method and urine albumin content wasmeasured by a sensitive, nephelometric technique. the urinaryalbumin/creatinine ratio (uacr) was determined as an indicatorof microalbuminuria. complete two?dimensional, doppler, andtissue?doppler echocardiography was performed and the recordingof the diastolic function parameters was carried out.results: high body mass index and high systolic blood pressurewere positively correlated with the appearance of left ventricularhypertrophy, whereas, the uacr index had no significantrelationship with hypertrophy. multivariable analysis also showedthat advanced age and systolic blood pressure were significantlyassociated with the e/e annulus parameter.conclusion: according to our investigation obesity is moreimportant than microalbuminuria for the prediction and preventionof diastolic dysfunction in non?diabetic hypertensive patients.
