Abstract    the purpose of article is to investigate the contribution of entrepreneurs to the advancement of the contemporary textile industry in the shahedieh region of yazd. this research examines the impact of geographical, social, and cultural factors on this process, as well as the manner in which entrepreneurs leverage local and family connections to establish this network.semi-structured interviews are the most significant data collection technique employed in this research, which is founded on a qualitative approach and case study.the results suggest that the shahedieh textile network has experienced two distinct evolutionary cycles between 1951 and 2023. carpet cover production was the primary focus of the initial cycle, which spanned from 1951 to 1989. the second cycle, commencing in 1989, began with the production of upholstery fabrics. the modern textile industry’s development in shahedieh is a distinct illustration of the formation and expansion of an actor-network. human actors (e.g., local entrepreneurs, their families and communities, local government officials, fabric designers, yarn and fabric traders, etc.) and non-human entities (e.g., the region’s socio-economic and industrial heritage, geographical location, technological advancements in textiles, climate change and water scarcity, changes in social preferences, etc.) comprise this network. the research results suggest that the development of this industry is the consequence of a multifaceted interplay between human actors (entrepreneurs, families, and government) and non-human entities (heritage, topography, technology, and climate).this method illustrates the resilience and dynamism of the industrial ecosystem, which can be used as a successful paradigm for development in similar regions.
