بررسی طول لب بالای بیماران در الگوهای رشدی عمودی با و بدون gummy smile

سابقه و هدف: زیباترین لبخند زمانی است که تمام طول تاج دندان و 2 میلیمتر از لثه دیده شود. بیشتر از آن از لحاظ زیبایی مطلوب نیست وgummy smile  نامیده می شود. طول لب بالا یکی از عوامل موثر gummy smile می باشد. هدف از مطالعه حاضر بررسی طول لب بالا در بیماران با الگوی رشد عمودی، با و بدون gummy smile و عوامل مرتبط با آن بود. مواد و روش ها:  این مطالعه توصیفی  روی 180 بیمار مراجعه کننده به بخش ارتودنسی دانشکده دندانپزشکی انجام گرفت. طول لب بالا در  سه گروه (vertical growth pattern) vgp (average growth pattern) ,agp   gummy smileتوسط کولیس اندازه گیری و مقایسه شد. برای مقایسه داده ها آزمون های t test، آنالیز واریانس و tukey استفاده شدند. یافته ها:  در هر دو جنس میزان طول لب بالا در بیماران دارای الگوی رشد عمودی بدون گامی اسمایل بطورمعناداری بیشتر از بیماران دارای الگوی رشد نرمال (0/001>p) و بیماران دارای الگوی رشد عمودی با گامی اسمایل  بود (0/001>p). در افراد دارای الگوی رشد نرمال (0/001>p) و در افراد دارای الگوی رشد عمودی دارای گامی اسمایل (0/004=p) میانگین طول لب بالا در مردان بطورمعناداری بالاتر از زنان بود. اما در افراد دارای الگوی رشدعمودی بدون گامی اسمایل میانگین طول لب بالا در مردان با زنان تفاوت معناداری نداشت (0/139=p). ﻧﺘﻴﺠﻪ ﮔﻴﺮی:  جنسیت، نوع رشد عمودی و اثر جنسیت بر نوع رشد عمودی، بر میزان طول لب بالا تاثیر گذار است. الگوی رشد عمودی بر پارامترهای لبخند(طول لب بالا) در افراد دارای گامی اسمایل تاثیرگذار است.

evaluation of upper lip length in vertical growth pattern individuals with and without gummy smile

abstractbackground and aim :the most esthetic smile is when the entire length of the crown of the tooth and 2 mm of the gums are visable. most of it is not aesthetically pleasing and is called gummy smile or gingival smile.upper lip length is one of the factors influencing the gummy smile. the aim of the present study was to investigate the upper lip length in patients with vertical growth pattern, with and without gummy smile and related factors. materials and methods: this cross-sectional study was performed on 180 patients referred to the dental clinic of tehran dental branch of islamic azad university. patients were randomly divided into three groups vertical growth pattern (vgp), average growth pattern (agp) and gummy smile. the length of the upper lip in all three groups was measured and compared by the caliper. t test, anova and tukey tests were used to compare the data.results: in both sexes (men and women), the mean upper lip length was significantly higher in patients with vertical growth pattern without gummy smile than patients with normal growth pattern (p<0.001) and in patients with vertical growth pattern with gummy smile (p<0.001). in people with a normal growth pattern (p<0.001) and in people with a vertical growth pattern with gummy smile (p = 0.004), the mean length of the upper lip in men was significantly higher than in women. however, in people with a normal growth pattern without gummy smile, the mean length of the upper lip in men was not significantly different from that in women (p = 0.139).conclusion: gender  vertical growth pattern, and gender interaction with vertical growth pattern  affect the upper lip length. the pattern of vertical growth affects the parameters of the smile in people with gummy smile.
