تصویر چندوجهی غرب در نخستین سفرنامه‌های ایرانیان

پژوهش حاضر که با هدف فهمِ عناصر تصویر غرب در نخستین سفرنامه‌های ایرانی نوشته شده است، بر آن است که تصویر غرب را با منطقی رویاگون و دارای تعین چندوجهی درک کند. لویی آلتوسر، تعین چندوجهی، که مفهومی در روانکاوی فرویدی است را برای تبیین ساخت پیچیده، غیرخطی و غیرذاتیِ رخدادهای تاریخی بکار گرفت. این مفهوم نشان می­دهد که ساخت پدیده­های تاریخی از انباشت تاریخ­های گاهاً متفاوت و متضاد در لحظه­ای معین شکل گرفته­است. ازاین‌رو، با کمک این مفهوم تلاش کرده‌ایم نشان دهیم که غرب در نخستین سفرنامه‌های ایرانیان چگونه به‌تصویر کشیده شده و چه نسبتی با تصویر غرب در داستان‌های تمثیلی برقرار کرده است. تصویر غرب، همچون تجلی مادیت و تاریکی، و شرق، همچون جایگاه نور و معنویت، در ادبیات عرفانی ساخته می‌شود و با جایگشتش به نخستین سفرنامه‌های ایرانیان دربارۀ غرب، ترکیب‌بندی جدیدی پدید می‌آورد. در این مقاله با به‌کارگیری روش مطالعۀ تاریخی و اسنادی نشان داده‌ایم که تصویر غرب چگونه به‌طور هم‌زمان، دوگانۀ جانِ والا‌‌تنِ لذت‌جو را در یک تصویر یگانه حفظ، و سیاست‌های میل‌ورزی خاص خود را تولید و توزیع می‌کند.

our concern is with the image of the west in the first iranian travelogues. how elements which shape the west image in these travelogues are assembled? where is their origin? how they interact with each other and were narrated? the contemporary image of the west is an overdetermined and dreamlike imagenarration. by relying on concepts such as over determination, different histories, elements, and moments, we try to suggest an interpretation about the structure of west narration in primary iranian travelogues. our research suggests the idea of the west, in mystical and sufi doctrine, represents a sequence of association: materialbodydarknessdescendtemptationguiltaccident. the idea of the east associates the opposite side of sequence: spritgustlightascendcertaintyvirtueessence. these sequences of associations are preconditions of visibility which the first travelogues experience the geopolitical west. our research about the origins of the narrative structure of travelogues about the west suggests that synthesis of the colonial and the mystical thoughts create a special narration about the eastwest relation. east is the ascending arc and west is the descending arc. this image of eastwest relation is one of the main assumptions of orientalism.
