تطور روابط نظامی و اقتصادی آمریکا و عربستان سعودی، 2019- 1943

همکاری های دفاعی واشنگتنریاض سابقه ای طولانی دارد. روابط عربستان سعودی و آمریکا دو هدف متفاوت دارد. مهم‏ترین هدف حکومت عربستان از تقویت روابط با ایالات متحده آمریکا، «امنیتی» است و خواستار حمایت واشنگتن از آل سعود در داخل عربستان و در سطح منطقه غرب آسیا است، اما ایالات متحده آمریکا از تداوم رابطه با عربستان سعودی، علاوه بر دفاع از رژیم صهیونیستی، بیش از همه اهداف «اقتصادی» را دنبال می‏ کند. این مقاله به دنبال علل پیدایش و نحوه تکامل این همکاری هاست. نویسندگان تلاش دارند تا نشان دهند تشریک مساعی دفاعی میان دو کشور اساسا ناشی از شکل گیری رابطه حامیپیرو میان آنها در دهه 1940 میلادی و سپس تحولات این رابطه در دهه های بعد بوده است. در واقع آنچه شاهد آن هستیم این است که با تعمیق و گسترش رابطه حامیپیرو میان عربستان و آمریکا در دوره مورد بررسی همکاریهای نظامی میان این دو نیز شاهد رشد کمی و کیفی قابل ملاحظه ای بوده است به نحوی که در این برهه عربستان بعد از اسرائیل و ایران عصر پهلوی تبدیل به سومین شریک نظامی آمریکا در خاورمیانه گردید. سوال مهم آن است که آمریکا چه نقش عمده ای برای عربستان در منطقه خاورمیانه دارد؟ فرضیه قابل طرح این است که آمریکا نه تنها به تامین تسلیحات، آموزش نظامی، و احداث تاسیسات زیر بنایی نظامی برای عربستان همت گماشته بلکه استراتژی دفاعی این کشور را نیز تدوین می نماید. در نتیجه، آمریکا نقش اساسی در شکل گیری و مدرنیزه ساختن نیروهای نظامی عربستان ایفاء نموده است.

The evolution of military-economic relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia, 1943- 2019

This article looks at the causes of the evolution of this collaboration. The authors are trying to show that the defense cooperation between the two countries was essentially due to the formation of a patrontofollow relationship between them in the 1940s and then to the development of this relationship in the decades to come. In fact, what we are seeing is that, with the deepening and expansion of the patronage relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States during the period under review, military cooperation between them has seen considerable quantitative and qualitative growth so that at this time of Saudi Arabia after Israel and Pahlavi Iran became the third US military partner in the Middle East. The important question is, how does the United States play a major role for Saudi Arabia in the Middle East? The hypothesis is that the United States is not only providing weapons, military training, and building military infrastructure for Saudi Arabia, but also defining its defense strategy. As a result, the United States has played a major role in the formation and modernization of Saudi military forces.
