تحلیل تطبیقی سهراب در شاهنامه و ببهروواهن در مهابهارات

سهراب یکی از شخصیت‌های اسطوره‌ای حماسۀ ملی ایرانیان، شاهنامه، از وجوه متعدد، شباهت‌های فراوان با «ببهروواهن»، شخصیت حماسۀ مهابهارات دارد. مشترکات و مشابهات این دو در زمینه‌های گوناگونی قابل بررسی است. ریشۀ مشترک نام هر دو شخصیت، نسب‌نامۀ خانوادگی، سرگذشت مشابه، داستان ازدواج پدر و مادر این دو با نکات و جزئیات مشابه، اقامت هردو نزد خانوادۀ مادری و به دور از پدر، نقش یک اسب ویژه در پیش‌برد داستان، رویارویی با پدر در میدان نبرد پس از سالیان بسیار، نقش نیروهای فراطبیعی در داستان، کشته شدن یکی از طرفین جنگ در آوردگاه و کوشش برای به دست آوردن نوش‌دارو، از شاخص‌ترین اشتراکات این دو شخصیت حماسی ایران و هندوستان به‌شمار می‌آیند. با این حال با بررسی ژرف و دقیق سرگذشت سهراب و داستان ببهروواهن، به وجوه افتراق قابل توجهی نیز بین دو شخصیت دست می‌یابیم که حتا گاه مسیر دو داستان را به طور کلی از یک دیگر متمایز می‌کند و سرنوشت‌های کاملاً متفاوتی را برای این دو شخصیت رقم می‌زند. نویسندگان در این پژوهش درصدد هستند تا با بهره‌گیری از شیوۀ تطبیقی، وجوه اشتراک و افتراق میان این دو شخصیت را بررسی کنند و به این پرسش پاسخ دهند که مبانی اشتراک و اختلاف مهابهارات و شاهنامه در داستان‌های مربوط به این دو شخصیت کدام است؟

Comparative analysis of Sohrab in Shahnameh with Babhuvahana in Mahabharata

AbstractSohrab, one of the mythological characters in Persian national epic, Shahnameh is similar in many respects to Babhruvahana, the epic character in Indian epic, Mahabharata.  Their similarities and differences lend themselves to examination in many respects.  The common origin of their names, their lineage, identical destiny, the parents’ marriage story with the exact details, residence of both at their mothers side, and far from the father, the role of the spectacular horse in the progression of the tale, confrontation with the father in battle field after many years, the impact of supernatural forces in the tale, one of the opponents getting killed in the battle ground and the attempt made for acquiring the elixir are among the most remarkable common grounds between these two characters.  Nevertheless accurate examination of their life histories make us understand also significant differences between the two characters that inevitably  lead to entirely different fates and hence the course of the tales take diverse turns.   Using comparative analysis approach, the purpose of this article is to study the significant similarities and differences between the two characters.
