کُنج قناعت، غیر از گنج قناعت است

احمد مهدوی دامغانی معتقد است در زبان فارسی، ترکیبی به نام کنج قناعت وجود ندارد و آنچه به نام کنج قناعت در متون چاپی می‌بینیم، در اصل، همان گنج قناعت است. به نظر او هیچ نسبتی میان واژۀ کنج و قناعت نیست و ترکیب کنج قناعت، غلط مشهوری است که به سبب سهو کاتبان و خطای مصحّحان به وجود آمده است. در مقالۀ حاضر، با بررسی نسبت میان واژه‌های کنج و قناعت در بافت اشعار عرفانی، نشان داده‌ایم کنج قناعت، غلط مشهور نیست و غیر از گنج قناعت است. کنج قناعت و گنج قناعت، دو ترکیب جداگانه هستند که در شعر فارسی، بارها به کار رفته‌اند. کنج قناعت، ترکیبی استعاری است برآمده از جهان‌بینی صوفیه و گنج قناعت، ترکیبی تشبیهی است که از حدیث نبوی «القَناعَهُ مالٌ لایَنفَدُ و کَنزٌ لایَفنی» برگرفته شده است.

The konje qana’at is other than the ganje qana’at

Ahmad Mahdavi Damghani believes that in the Persian language, there is no combination called the konje qana’at and that what is printed in the literary texts, called konje qana’at, is originally the ganje qana’at; in his opinion, there is no relation between the words konj and qana’at; and the konje gana’at is a wellknown misconception that was created owing to the inadvertent scribes and errors of the editors. In this research, we have tried to study the relationship between the words konj and qana’at in the context of mystical poetry and have tried to show that konje qana’at is not a wellknown misconception, and it is other than the ganje qana’at. The konje qana’at and ganje qana’at are two separate combinations that have been used many times in Persian poetry. Konje qana’at is a metaphorical combination that is rooted in the mystical worldview and ganje qana’at is an analogic combination taken from the Prophet’s hadis.
