نظریۀ گام و کوتاه‌ترین فاصلۀ میان دو نقطه

هدف اصلی شرط نفوذناپذیری گام، و در کل نظریۀ گام، مشخص کردن مسیر حرکت سازه‌های زبانی است. در این مقاله، نگارندگان ابتدا مسیر حرکت درون‌بندی فاعل محمول‌های نامفعولی را بررسی می‌کنند و استدلال می‌کنند که فاعل از لبۀ گروه فعلی کوچک حرکت می‌کند و سپس به مشخص‌گر گروه زمان می‌رود. برخلاف حرکت فاعل، در حرکت مفعول رایی و غیررایی و جزء غیرفعلی فعل مرکب نشانه‌ای نمی‌توان یافت تا براساس آن حرکت از لبۀ گروه فعلی کوچک را تایید کرد. دربارۀ متمم گروه حرف اضافه‌ای نیز ادعا می‌شود که متمم حرف اضافه پس از خارج شدن از این گروه، که به منظور مبتداسازی یا کانونی‌سازی انجام می‌گیرد، از لبۀ گروه فعلی کوچک می‌گذرد و نقش‌نمای «را« دریافت می‌کند. با توجه به داده‌های این مقاله و براساس قضیۀ کوتاه‌ترین فاصلۀ میان دو نقطه  (قضیۀ حمار) تصریح می‌شود که در زبان‌شناسی کمینه‌گرایی مطلق نیز مانند هم‌معنایی مطلق وجود ندارد.

Phase Theory and Geodesic

The main purpose of Phase Impenetrability Condition, and the whole Phase Theory itself, is to predict the movement path of linguistic structures. In this article, in the first place, the movement path of subject within a sentence will be studied and it is argued that subject moves through the edge of vP and then goes to the specifier of tense group. However, contrary to subject movement, the movement of ‘ra’ object and ‘nonra’ object and ‘nonverbal part of a compound verb show no sign that these syntactic structures move through the edge of vP. Regarding to complement preposition phrase, it is argued that having moved out, this syntactic structure which aimed at going to topic group or focus group, moves through the edge of vP and receives ‘ra’ which is a functional marker. According to data of the article and according to the geodesic (Donkey Hypothesis), it is claimed that there is no absolute minimalism in linguistics like absolute synonymy.
