چکیده    From the commencement of his caliphate, imam ali (as) encountered many opponents and enemies .in spite of his struggle for peace making and preventing the massacre of muslims ,it didn’t take long before these hostilites increased and led to three civil wars: jamal,seffin,nahrovan. imam’s efforts for ceasing fire continued during the battles , although it usually didn’t have any result. at the times he was forced to fight, learning from the quran and following the example of the holy prophet(sawa), he never trespassed truth and justice and eventually manifested a war, based on divine and human rights in order to be a practical example for all those seeking truth. of the most important rights which imam ali(as) observed in his battles against other muslims, was the right of negotiation, talking them out of war and leaving no room for any excuse for war, observing humane behavior with enemy and avoiding brutal and harsh methods in war. keywords : abolitionists ، war rights ،imam ali(as) , nahj-al-balaghah--
