Type B aortic injury by volume rendered CT aortogram

Superior view of a reformatted volume rendered computerized tomographic aortogram, of a patient who came with a history of chest pain, and was found to have an aortic intramural haematoma, with two areas of contrast out-pouching from the lumen suggesting the entry, exit. the most proximal one (op) is 8 mm distal to the left subclaivian artery (lsa). this image shows clearly the superiority of this imaging modality in showing exactly the location of injury which affects management and prognosis.
